This week’s hike (really a trek on roads) was a circuit hike from our house, to town of Guilmi, back through fraziones San Cristoforo, Santa Guista, returning to our house. What amazing views! Almost 12 miles on pavement was definitely tiring, but it was a gorgeous day and a beautiful hike. Leaving Serre, we travelled down to a fast moving creek, then up a big climb to the town of Guilmi. We didn’t visit the town as we will wait until it is a more safer time for everyone. Once we got to Guilmi, the Adriatic Sea came into view. Hiked along a ridge line of farms and homes with small fraziones, then returned through a number of our fraziones. Unfortunately, my phone was low on battery at that point and no additional pictures. Total circuit 11.8 miles/ 19 km, Altitude gain 2135 ft/651 meters. Take a good camera for this hike if you’re interested in ‘wow’ views.

L’escursione di questa settimana(davvero un trekking su strade) è stata un’escursione in circuito da casa nostra, al paese di Guilmi, attraverso le frazioni San Cristoforo, Santa Guista, tornando a casa nostra. Che viste meravigliose! Quasi 12 miglia sul marciapiede sono state decisamente stancanti, ma è stata una giornata stupenda e una bella escursione. Lasciando Serre, siamo scesi in un torrente in rapido movimento, quindi abbiamo risalito una grande salita fino al paese di Guilmi. Non abbiamo visitato la città perché aspetteremo fino a quando non sarà un momento più sicuro per tutti. Arrivati a Guilmi si è intravisto il mare Adriatico. Abbiamo camminato lungo una linea di crinale di fattorie e case con piccole frazioni, quindi siamo tornati attraverso alcune delle nostre frazioni. Sfortunatamente, la batteria del mio telefono era scarica a quel punto e nessuna foto aggiuntiva. Circuito totale 11,8 miglia / 19 km, dislivello positivo 2135 piedi / 651 metri. Prendi una buona macchina fotografica per questa escursione se sei interessato alle viste “wow”.
